(ROUGH DRAFT – NEEDS EDITING) I have a decent amount of journals that I use. They all serve a different purpose and I use some way more than others.
Do you say journal or diary?
If you have random journals lying around and don’t know what to do with them, here are some ideas. Enjoy!
Daily Journal
This is my most used journal out of all of them. I use this nearly everyday. I write about whatever I feel like talking about, but it usually involves:
- What I did during the day – (who was I with, what did we do, did I meet anyone? etc.)
- Did I meet anyone new
- Did I learn anything
- What are some ideas/thoughts I’ve been having
- What am I feeling like
Unfortunately, I don’t have any deep dark secrets in here and it’s really not as interesting as people think it is. But, this journal keeps me sane. It helps me think things through and keeps me grounded.
Agenda(s)
I have three agendas… This is absolutely not necessary and I really only need one. But I got two of them for Christmas and I didn’t want ot return either of them, because they’re both really different set ups. Then, I was in a store and saw another Agenda that I wanted really bad.
All three of these Agendas are from Typo.
I like the idea of all of them, but the one I use the most is… because the layout is ideal.
I don’t really use the hourly agenda. Again, I like the idea, but I really can’t be bothered to write what I did at each our of the day… But it would be nice to look back and see what I was up to… Maybe I’ll keep trying it.
Random/creative Journal
I don’t use this journal as much as I’d like to, but it’s one of my favorites journals I have. I refer to this as my ‘Pink Journal’ because idk what else to call it. It’s really random.
I do monthly recaps and have added some other fun pages inside. (View my youtube video to see it)
This is a journal that I’ll love to look back on in a year or so and even more in several years!
I write what music I listen to, what books I read, my favorite quotes. etc.
Goal Journal
This started out as a manifestation journal and i actually used it a good amount, but then I realized that manifestation (writing something down 1000 times is bs). So I turned it into a goal journal which makes far more sense.
Writing out your goals will help you stay motivated towards accomplishing them, especially when you right out an action plan! This kind of journal also helps you realize all of your goals and priorities in your life which can help you focus on the important things.
Acting Journal
I recently started taking an acting class, so I have a journal to write down any notes/ideas/assignments. I’ve only taken two classes so far and I’ve learned a lot, but haven’t been writing too many notes.
Language Journal
My least used journal. I started this, because I had an extra journal lying around and wanted to do something with it. Hopefully I’ll start using it soon!
I write conjugations, songs in other languages, I even wrote down morse code!
One day, I’ll have the time to really learn a new language and this journal will be used frequently.
Random Facts Journal?? Not named
I have all the countries and capitals written in this journal. After I’m done with those, I’ll move on to something else.. Like oceans to lakes. Maybe this will become a geography journal.
Wrap-up
Well there you have it! Those are all of my journals (currently) and what I use them for. If you want to start journaling, but don’t know what kind of journal or what to put inside, I hope this post gave you some knew ideas.
