This is a very general overview of the last couple months of my entrepreneurial journey. I’ll try to make this easy to follow along with and relatively short. That being said, this is essentially over 1,140 hours of me working on my business condensed into a few paragraphs. Bear with me; I am not a writer ????️.
My journey started on November 27th, 2022 when I decided to buy a course that would teach me how to build an agency from scratch. I will be covering the months from November 2022 – April 2023.

Although my journey technically started when I bought that course in November, it really began in August 2022 when I discovered a YouTuber who is around my age and who is very successful. This YouTuber made videos about his journey, his mindset, and various things he did that got him to where he is at now (a multi-millionaire at the age of 23) ????. August is when I started becoming more aware of the SAAS/SMMA world.
Before I even heard about this type of business I already had the mindset of ‘I don’t want a 9-5. I’d rather find a way to make money doing something online.’ But consuming more media about starting my own business and breaking free of the conventional ways of living definitely shifted my mindset even more and made me determined to get started. I like to think of myself as a pretty disciplined person, but I had no sense of direction; I didn’t know where I wanted to go or where to start. These videos gave me the guidance and inspiration I needed to build my own business. When I discovered this world of SAAS/SMMA my perspective of how I could be living my life changed ????.
November 2022
The YouTuber that I was watching has a very in-depth course that teaches people how to build an agency from scratch. On November 27th, his course was on sale and the price was just too good to pass up, so I bought this $1,000 course and made the conscious decision to spend the next few months of my life giving this online business thing a real shot. I spent the last few days of November getting started with the modules in the course.
Honestly, I thought I would be making money within 3 months of starting this course. I am currently 5 months into building my business and I have made $0 and have put over $2,000 into it. Despite that fact, I am still very hopeful that my business will be making money soon. Hopeful is not even what I feel; it is a fact that I will be making money soon ????.
That is a very bold statement from someone who has made no money so far ????.
So, on November 27th, 2022 I bought the course and began my entrepreneurial journey.
December 2022
The course I bought has over 60+ hours of modules, so the first few weeks of December were spent watching them in 2x speed while simultaneously building my business as I went along ⏳. I was learning about different business models, pricing, services, how to pitch, and so much more. I was also buying software tools left and right, trying to figure out how click funnels worked, etc. This is a world that I knew nothing about and I dove in head first. December was the month where I figured out my business name, got my work email set-up, completed all of the modules in the course, and began creating my website. The course included website templates that I could have used, but I really did not like any of them so I decided to buy a website theme (similar to this site’s theme) and built a WordPress website ????.
Looking back, I spent way too much time trying to build and perfect my website. The course even told us not to waste time on this, but for some reason I felt like I needed to have a solid website up before I even reached out to people because it made me feel more secure somehow.
My website is Navariagency.com and no, it’s not done yet.
In December, my website was up and running and I began looking to hire a contractor, because I decided that my service was going to be running Lead Generation Facebook Ads for Med Spas. I found a contractor who would run the ads for me and told her that she would start working within a couple of weeks – once I found a client.
At this point, I had not reached out to any businesses. I was too focused on getting other parts of my business set up. For example, I was writing/practicing different sales scripts, figuring out wtf DNS settings were and why I kept messing them up, trying to figure out my onboarding process, working on my website, etc. In other words, I was wasting my time ????.
Then, at the end of December, I discovered ‘Go High Level’ (GHL) and that pretty much changed the course of my entire business and I didn’t even know it yet. GHL is an all-in-one platform that allows businesses to manage their team, manage their customer relationships, automate their business and so much more ????????. I started a 14-day free trial of GHL around December 26th and submerged myself into that world.
January 2023
GHL was the first big shift I took in my business. In December, I was set on running Facebook Lead Generation Ads. But once I discovered GHL, I realized that I could offer way more services to Med Spas.
I spent the last few days of December and the first few weeks of January learning as much as I could about GHL. I found a free course that walked you through the platform and how to build a business from scratch using that software. This course was extremely helpful and I wish I discovered it at the beginning of my journey. I completed the course within the first two weeks of January. On top of this course, I was also watching countless YouTube videos about this platform as well as the modules that are on the GHL website. I told myself that once I set up my account, I will start taking outreach seriously and begin cold calling, emailing, and dming Med Spas in California and offering my services to them.
My brain was on overdrive 
I was going through the free GHL course, updating my process of outreach, thinking of pitch ideas, practicing my demo/strategy calls, setting up my contracts/invoices, organizing my onboarding process, figuring out how to fulfill the service, and so much more. I was constantly thinking about multiple different things that I wanted to get done. In hindsight, I spent the majority of my time trying to make my business perfect when I could’ve (and should’ve) been doing outreach all along.
I knew the process of starting my own business was going to be a lot of work and very challenging – I was ready for that. But when it came to outreach, I was in way over my head. Most people are nervous about reaching out to clients – they do not feel confident and are afraid of being told ‘no’. For some reason, I did not feel that way – I was overly confident. I assumed that I would find clients too easily so I purposely didn’t reach out to a lot of people because I thought I would become too overwhelmed with clients… I am laughing at how wrong I was.
Spoiler: No one wanted my amazing service! Wow, so shocking. Someone please tell me why I was this delusional ????.
To keep things short, in January I reached out to several Med Spas and never heard back from most of them. The few that I did hear back from eventually ghosted me ????.
However, I got lucky because my mom knew a woman who owned a Body Sculpting practice and was interested in me running Facebook Ads for her business. I ended up speaking with her and signing her as my first client on January 18th, 2023.
This was the perfect first client to have, because everything that could make this process difficult, happened. Literally everything (but I learned a lot). Despite that, we got her ads up and running. I was also running a database reactivation (DR) for her business which was not as successful as I thought it would be.
January was spent learning about GHL, watching countless videos/courses that taught me how to use the software, getting everything set-up and organized for my new business model with GHL, and of course working on my website.
February 2023
I ended up getting my client over 20 leads in the first month which is pretty good considering our budget for ads was less than $400 in California, but we struggled converting them to customers. Long story short – I ended up happily refunding my client her money and shaking off that entire experience.
From that lesson I learned that I no longer wanted to offer FB ads as my main service. I decided that DR is what I wanted to offer Med Spas, because it’s easier, cheaper, and would have faster results.
My goal for February was to sign one DR client. I began creating different service plans on GHL. I had 3 services: Database Reactivation, Facebook Advertising, and a combination of both. All of these new changes made me want to update my website… So I did.
I wasted so much time on this website ????
The more time I spent on GHL, the more services I realized I could offer to people. I could offer, SAAS, website creation, Google Reviews, 2-way text, automations and so much more; GHL can do everything . In my delusional mind I thought these services would be way easier to sell, because everyone who owns a business would want them! Although that may be true, it wasn’t easier to sell, because I’m a horrible salesperson.
My business went from a Lead Generation agency to a SAAS agency. You know what that means… Website update ????! I can’t believe how much time I was putting into this website and then completely changing it days later.
I wasted a lot of time during these months trying to make every aspect of my business perfect when I should’ve been focusing on the one thing that would get me clients; outreach.
Towards the end of February my focus was on website creation; I wanted to offer websites to businesses who needed them. I spent the last several days of this month searching for local businesses in San Diego with bad websites so that I could create a new one for them. The businesses that I reached out to weren’t interested.
March 2023
March is the month where I realized how much time I’ve been wasting and noticed that I’m spending time doing things that aren’t making me money. I was stuck in analysis paralysis . One of my main goals for March was to just sign one client.
Notice how I went from being scared of reaching out to people because I thought I’d have too many clients to struggling to find one. Rude awakening.
I was also still updating and changing things on my website for whatever reason.
Why am I still messing with this website that not a single person has been on besides me?? ????????♀️ (Don’t worry, I eventually leave the site alone).
The first few days of March I was still trying to figure out how to get website clients. Then I discovered the world of Social Media Management (SMM) around March 13th.
Before I completely abandoned everything I’ve been working on for the past few months, I did some research into the SMM world. After a week of research, I decided that this is what I’m going to do and I will not change my service again. My business will still offer website creation and our CRM software, but our main service will be social media management. From there, I quickly put together three SMM packages that I could offer businesses. I was consuming so much SMM content on YouTube and doing a lot of research on this service.
Then, I ended up buying another course ????
I bought a SMM course for $1,000 and it was extremely helpful. My bank account could barely handle this purchase ????. The month of March was spent figuring out the process of SMM and how I can actually succeed at this. I told myself that once I figure out the services that I’ll offer in my SMM packages, my sole focus will be on outreach (YAY she’s finally learning from her mistakes ).
I decided that my niche would be restaurants ???? in San Diego and I messaged over 15 of them offering my SMM services. Most of them ignored my message, but I didn’t get discouraged. I was too confident in this service – I knew it would work.
While I was prospecting, I was still creating my packages and perfecting them, but I was also thinking of other niches that need SMM even more than restaurants ????. I know that there had to be several niches that no one in the SAAS/SMMA world were targeting. I just had to find one of them.
Then, on March 31st I thought of the perfect niche that desperately needs help with their social media; Law firms/Lawyers ????????⚖️. No one is targeting Lawyers or Law Firms for SMM or any other service. They’re essentially neglected and they need help. I haven’t found a single law firm that has a good social media account. I have my Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice and I knew that I’d be able to connect with and help these business owners more than others. This is the perfect niche for me.
April 2023 (present day)
It’s currently April 9th when I’m writing this and I’m feeling very optimistic ????. You’ll be happy to hear that I’m sticking to my service of SMM and to my niche of Law firms/Lawyers. I only have two goals for the month of April and they are 1. Prospect and 2. Outreach. Those are the only two things I should be focusing on until I sign a client. I’m not allowing myself to go on my website, change niches, or change services. I know that if I just focus on prospecting and outreach for this month, I’ll find a client ????????.
So far, I’ve reached out to 30 Law Firms/Lawyers via email and heard back from none of them (lol). I decided that cold emails make it too easy for people to ignore me. So, I called 5 Law Firms on Thursday, April 6th and now have 3 firms that are potentially interested!
Lesson learned: Make it harder for people to ignore you/turn you down ????.
I’ll be reaching out to these firms again on Monday, April 10th.
I’m not going to focus on my website, or my onboarding process, or anything else. I can figure all of that out once I get my first client.
Recap
The last few months have been quite the journey for me. One that I never knew I’d take in my life, but I’m so glad I did. At this point, my business has made no money, but I know it’ll be worth it.
I’ve learned so much and I’m excited to continue learning. I’ll give my latest business idea a fair shot and not change it for the entire month of April. I think from here on out, I’ll continue to make updates on my business. The best part is that no one will even read these posts for and when people eventually start reading them, I’ll already be making damn good money.
