Recently, there has been more emphasis on self-care and people are starting to incorporate it into their lives. Unfortunately, when our lives get a bit too hectic, we tend to push aside self-care in order to focus on other thing.
This isn’t a good thing. Self-care should be treated as much of a priority as any other aspect in your life. In fact, it’s in moments of chaos where you should really focus on yourself and put effort into you!
Here are 21+ self-care ideas that you can implement in your life to make yourself feel a little better and even boost your confidence.

Mind
- 7+ hours of sleep (at least)
- You can do all the self-care in the world and it won’t make a difference if you’re not getting enough sleep.
- Less time social media
- Social media is full of distractions and other things that can negatively affect your mood, focus and overall well-being.
- Spending less time on social media will allow you to focus on more important things in your life and not overstimulate your brain.
- Journaling
- There are so many benefits that come from journaling. I believe it’s one of the best self-care activities someone can do for themselves.
- Meditation
- Meditation can increase your focus and calm down your mind. This will allow you to think more clearly and feel less anxiety.

- Whether it’s an informational book or one for pure entertainment, reading is a great way to relax.
- Alone time
- Being comfortable with being alone is something a lot of people struggle with. Having alone time can let you discover yourself on a more meaningful level.
- Clean/organize space
- This might not seem like a mental self-care activity, but it is!
- Having an organized space can reduce stress and anxiety and make you more clear-headed.

- Whether it’s walking, running, weightlifting, yoga – getting your heart-rate up for at least 20 minutes a day can significantly improve your overall health.
- Working out can also boost your confidence!
- Eat healthy
- It’s no secret that our body needs certain nutrients in order to function at its best. But for some reason, people neglect their health and constantly consume foods that their body gain no nutritional value from.
- If you eat like crap you’re going to feel like crap.
- Stay Hydrated
- Drinking enough water is another crucial aspect to your health that people neglect (me included).
- Drinking enough water will allow the toxins to be flushed from your system.
- Water can also improve your skin.
- Stretch
- Stretching is so underrated and I don’t know why.
- Stretching can help reduce injuries, enhance athletic performance, make day-to-day activities easier and much more.
Social
Being social is just as important as the other aspects of self-care! Often-times when people isolate themselves, they feel as if they’re alone and have no one to talk to.
Going out and being social (even if it’s just with one person) can improve your life and offer new opportunities.
- Be with friends/family
- It’s nice to have people to talk to and laugh with; this can distract you from other areas in your life that you need to take a break from.
- Make new friends
- It’s good to have more than one friend group. Maybe you’re even getting tired of the people you surround yourself with.
- Go out and make some new friends!
Confidence
Boosting your confidence through self-care can be very simple. Here are some activities that you can get professionally done or even do yourself that will boost your confidence. Let’s face it, when you look good, you feel good!
- Manicure/pedicure
- Getting your nails done is always a great way to make you feel a little more confident.
- Facial/face mask
- This can be done professionally or even at home! Face masks are amazing for hydrating your skin, improving impurities and more.
- Exfoliate

- Self-care shower
- This is my personal favorite self-care activity.
- Taking a nice, hot, shower. Exfoliating my body, shaving, doing a face mask and moisturizing instantly makes me feel better. It works every time.
Other Self-Care Ideas
- Find a new hobby
- Sometimes, your life can be boring and repetitive. Finding a new hobby can make your life more interesting and is a great way to meet new people.
- Listening to music
- Self-explanatory (everyone loves good music).
- Selfish time/days
- Choose a specific amount of time each day to dedicate to yourself and only yourself. You can do whatever you want during this time.
- Go outside
- Stepping outside is a great way to instantly feel grounded and centered.
Wrap-up
Self-care is crucial to maintain a relatively peaceful, healthy, lifestyle. When you take the time (even if it’s just 10 minutes a day) to do something for yourself, this can boost your confidence, make you feel more fulfilled and make life seem more manageable.
Self-care should be treated as a priority and not just something to do if you have time for it.
