There are some items that you should bring to every photoshoot/modeling job you have. Then, there are additional items that you might want to bring depending on certain factors such as: length of shoot, type of shoot, etc.
Here are photoshoot must-haves that you should always bring to a photoshoot/model job.

Items to always bring
These are the bare-minimum items that you should always bring to a photoshoot.
Clothing:
- nude braw/underwear
- black bra/underwear
- strapless bra
- Pasties/sticky boobs
Stylists will usually tell you to bring these items, but even if they don’t, you should still bring them!
Makeup:
- foundation/concealer
- Natural lipstick/gloss
Unless the modeling job is specifically for a make-up brand, you should always bring your own foundation/concealer to a photoshoot.
Other items:
- extra hair ties/bobby pins
- brush
- lotion
- gum
- phone charger
You’ll never know when you’ll need these items, but they do come in handy from time-to-time and can make or break a photoshoot.
Additional items
These are other items that you can bring to a shoot that may come in handy. These items will also depend on the type of shoot you’re doing.
- Comfortable clothes
- Depending on how long the shoot is, you’ll want to have some comfortable sweats to lounge around in, because there can be a lot of random/unplanned breaks.
- Extra shoes
- Comfortable shoes, slides, sandals, etc.
- If you’re doing an outdoor shoot, you might want to bring shoes that are comfortable to walk in and that you don’t mind getting dirty.
- Make-up
- Setting powder
- mascara
- lip-gloss
- blush
- Unfortunately, there are some make-up artists who still don’t know how to do make-up on certain skin tones, or maybe they just don’t know how to do make-up at all (trust me, this has happened several times). It’s better to bring your own make-up just in case.
- Food/snacks
- Depending on how long the job is, you’ll probably want to bring snacks. If you know the shoot will be 10+ hours, definitely bring water, drinks and easy to eat snacks.
- Some models also pack their own lunches. Of course, the companies will provide lunch, but if you’re a picky eater/have a certain diet, then packing your own lunch would be wise!
- Even if the shoot is only a few hours, I’d still bring something to eat.
- Blanket/towel
- If you’re doing a beach/outdoor shoot, then bringing a towel and/or blanket is a good idea.
Wrap-up
You don’t need to bring an insanely big bag filled with a ton of things to every photoshoot, but it’s important to be prepared. This will make the shoot go way smoother and also help you feel more comfortable.
Keep in mind that some modeling jobs are more professional than others and you won’t need half of the things you brought and that’s okay. It’s better to be prepared than to end up wasting precious time trying to make things work.
I’ve been to shoots where I’ve been asked to bring certain clothes and more than half the time, we never use them. But I’ve also seen models not bring anything and they end up sitting around the entire shoot because they’re unprepared and the directors can’t use them.
